| STEP 1 ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, |
ATTEND FIRST MEETING
Attend a regular meeting of the Club - See SVR Home Page for time and location. You are a club guest - so lunch is on us! |
| STEP 2 |
YOUR SPONSOR
Make sure you have a sponsor. Your sponsor will guide you through the membership process. This is generally a Rotarian who invited you. However, if you have decided to attend and do not have a sponsor, let the Greeter know that you are interested in joining our Club but that you do not have a sponsor. You will be introduced to a Rotarian who will gladly assist you in the membership process. |
| STEP 3 |
CLUB GUEST INFORMATION CARD
At your first meeting, you will be asked to complete a Club Guest Information Card. This will give the club a record of your attendance. Also, someone from the Membership Committee will follow-up with you after the meeting to see if you have any questions.
|
| STEP 4 |
LEARN ABOUT ROTARY, MEMBERSHIP, AND THE SCOTTS VALLEY CLUB
As you explore our website you will find a lot of information about Rotary and the spirit of our club. On the Becoming a Member page (see below), you also will find specific information about expectations of membership and the basics of Rotary International.
|
| STEP 5 |
ATTEND SECOND MEETING
Attend a second regular meeting of the Club - again you are a club guest - so lunch is on us! Should you still have an interest of becoming a member after your second meeting, you should let your sponsor know. The Sponsor will complete a Membership Proposal Form, and you will provide a brief bio for your sponsor. This form and your bio will be presented to the Governing Board of the Club for consideration. |
| STEP 6 |
MEMBERSHIP AGREEMENT
Provided the Board's vote is in the affirmative, you will be asked to sign a Membership Agreement and give permission to the club to publish your name and proposed classification to the membership for consideration. You will then be notified regarding your application for membership.
Special note: The process following your second meeting could take as long as thirty days, although we try to complete the process sooner. Sometimes holidays and other conflicts slow the process down. However, after you have signed the Membership Agreement, you should continue to attend the club meetings and participate in the meetings as a member.
|
| STEP 7 | INDUCTION As soon as the review process is completed and all appropriate dues paid, approved new members will be inducted into the Rotary Club of Scotts Valley in a special induction ceremony. You will receive your membership badge, a Rotary pin, and other material pertinent to you becoming a new member. You also will be asked to join a committee and be assigned a mentor.
