We are enjoying New Orleans and have connected with Charlene and her husband Mike while we've been here. The weather has been warm and muggy but no rain or floods.  We did have some delays on the way and didn't get to New Orleans until very late Saturday because two of our flights here were cancelled. But N.O. is a very positive place. Nothing is so bad that it can't be fixed by a "hurricane" drink??!!:-)  Tomorrow we go on a Katrina Recovery tour of the city and area hard hit by that big hurricane.

Despite the crowds and problems getting here, I still love these conventions and LOVE the people you meet. We've shared cocktails and fellowship with old friends Joseph (from Guatemala City North, ) and Nick from South Africa. We met many new Rotarians from the Caribbean, Nigeria, Uganda, Ghana, Senegal, England, Australia, etc. This is why I love Rotary and going to these Conventions!!

We had a great dinner event tonight hosted by a local club from Metairie LA.  Loved the food ... Jim got his raw oysters and I had all kinds of good shrimp and catfish. Of course all was deep fried but still yummy.
