May 9th speaker: Patty Fernandez, Girls Inc.

Girls Inc. of the Central Coast is a nonprofit organization. Our mission is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart and bold, to respect themselves and the world around them.  We focus on leadership and self-empowerment through programs conducted after school at high schools, middle and elementary schools. Programs to assist with developing skills in decision-making, goal setting, facilitation, public speaking, program planning and academic pursuits. Our core programs are: ECHO Leadership, Youth Leaders, Smart Choices, Will Power/Won’t Power^®, Friendly PEERsuasion^®, Growing Together^® and Strong, Smart and Bold Summer Camps.

Patty is the Excutive Director of Girls Inc. of the Central Coast she has been with the organization for over 11 years.  She oversees current programs, and plans and implements program expansion of Girls Inc., which now serves 1000 girls ages 8-19 years old.  Patty prepares and administers annual budgets, reports, program evaluations and coordinates fundraising and outreach events.  http://www.girlsinccc.org
