This meeting was at SVHS today, September 15 in Lynne Near's classroom, at 12:36 Pm. Lynn Near is the new Interact advisor/teacher. She is also a past Interact member herself‼️
At this meeting, Elana Weingord, president, spoke to her members about The Fall Leadership Conference (FLC) coming up in October as well as about community service projects in Scotts Valley.
I told them about the E-waste opportunity this coming Saturday and invited them to come for community service hours. There will also be a school wide announcement of E-waste. I hope to see more than a few students. Finally, I told them that they should consider participating in the Chamber of Commerce's two candidate discussions on October 6th and 18th for additional community service. Barry Holtzclaw, Press Banner editor, will be the moderator. Hours are 5-8PM and will include city council candidates on the 6th and School Board candidates on the 18th. Students will receive pre-training and will have their pictures published in the "Banner" afterward. A lot is happening with our high school students. You are welcome to come to their meetings and get on the train ride with them for a most stimulating experience!
