Scotts Valley to present at District Conference in Tahoe

The sustainability Committee is hard at work and needs some help from volunteers. Here is the list of events where we need two volunteers per event and we can make things happen. The volunteers are people I could count on for any help needed to make the specific event happen.

Most improtantly, the Scotts Valley Rotary Club has been asked to prepare for two workshops at the District Wide Conference in Lake Tahoe. We need Rotarians to step up and volunteer to help with this project.

-- We are requested to repeat the 2 workshops in the afternoon of Saturday (June 1-3)

-- This includes support for a 1) Sustainability 101 and 2) a Recycling workshop. Would like Jack M. to lead the afternoon Recycling workshop if possible.

-- Mark Stone may potentially help to get a County person responsible for the recycling program do part of the talk.

Additionally, we need help with the following:

1. Make our next fundraiser event green

-- Includes a potential Ecology Action presentation at our Rotary Club to learn from the experts; and setting up a basic budget for related activities a head of time. Our info could be presented at the District Conference and used by other Clubs

2. Talk on Climate Change at the SVHS by an Al Gore team member - possibly March or April 2012

3. International Rotary Convention participation--Representative to go to International convention to participate in the booth with the Rotarians for the Environment Fellowship, in May 2012

4. Representative to go to Brazil for the UN International Conference on Sustainable Development in June 22, 2012

These are events we could put the Scotts Valley Rotary Club and our little committee on the map and help people and the planet. But I need you to volunteer to help in at least one event. Please choose at least one and call me. Thank you very much.
