Welcome Jackie Maurer, our newest Rotarian!

We are proud to induct another new member to the Scotts Valley Rotary, Jackie Maurer.  Jimmie Brewer, Club Service Chair, had the honor of conducting the ceremony.  Maire Sikora stood in for sponsor Dannie Reber.

 

 Here is what Jackie says about herself and why she joing the Scotts Valley Rotary:

I am a medical assistant for Dr. Tyler in Felton. I have worked with him for over 20 years. Before that I was a preschool teacherfor many years at Mt. Hermon Playschool.  My life's passion is to be a part of finding a cure for cancer. I have been volunteeringwith the American Cancer Society for 11 years, ever since my

17 year old son got cancer. I am a volunteer with the Red Cross and spent

3 weeks in Louisianna after hurricane Katrina.  I have been married for 30 years and have 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. My husband and I were high school sweethearts. I would like to join the Rotary Club because it is another way to serve my community. At my first meeting as a guest, I could see that you are a group of caring people
