A message from President Laureen….

Attendance and participation in our club is important to each of us—both from a sense of community and from being an active member of a service club.  However, I want to acknowledge that sometimes life circumstances prevent members from attending a meeting.  Our Club has never demanded 100% attendance but regular attendance or make-ups are recommended.  Therefore, at the last meeting of the Board, I requested that it be clarified as to what activities constitute “a make-up meeting” for attendance purposes.

  • Any member doing regular Rotary work at the District Level, or for Interact and/or Rotaract will be considered as having 100% attendance
  • Other members can make up a meeting by any activity that is Rotary related such as online meetings, attending another club’s meeting, attending a District or Area function, or significant time spent on Rotary Committee work.

In the spirit of the Four Way Test---It will be up to individual members to advise Marc Winquist, or the person checking you into the next meeting you attend, of your make-up so that he can record it for the records that we submit to Rotary International who does keep track of every clubs’ attendance and attendance is one of the standards used for the Presidents Citation  that is awarded to top performing clubs.

As a Board, we are discussing the potential of incorporating some evening or Happy Hour style meetings into our Rotary Calendar.

Yours in service,

Laureen
