Scotts Valley Rotarians,

Here is information on our trip to Cambodia to do the Feeding dreams Cambodia Vocational Training Center project.  We would love to have you come.   It will be a lot of fun and you can choose how much time you want to spend.  I suggest at least two weeks due to the travel distance and time change.  Here is a chance to get a real hands-on Rotary experience working with the children in Cambodia and helping them to learn the vocational skills they need to obtain a job and get out of poverty.    Below is information about the Rotary Convention and the Cambodia portion of the trip.  Attached is information about the Myanmar portion.  Let Rosanna or I know if you are interested in going with us or if you would like any more information.

Cambodia Champions,

I am working on our trip to Cambodia this summer.  Because travelers are doing different things and some would like to go to the RI convention and some go on to Myanmar, I decided to break the trip down into three parts.  You can choose to do only the project or add on the Rotary Convention or the Myanmar tour or both.

The first section is the Rotary convention which is May 28 through June 1.  If you would like to attend the convention you should book it on your own.  We are coordinating the Cambodia portion of the trip so that you can arrive in South Korea on May 28th (or earlier or later if it better suits your schedule).  Then you would need to book air travel to Siem Reap, Cambodia On June 2nd.  (Feel free to call me if you need some help booking this section.)

The second section is the actual project at Feeding Dreams and a little touring in Cambodia.  I will be working with Kerry to book this portion for you but it should be pretty reasonable.  You should arrive in Siem Reap, Cambodia on June 2.  From Seoul, South Korea or California depending on whether you are attending the Rotary Convention.  I will book hotels for 6 nights.  The plan is to work in the school of Friday, the 5th, then tour Angkor Watt over the weekend, the 6th and 7th, and then back to the school for two days Monday, the 6th and Tuesday the 7th.  We will be having a dedication ceremony at Feeding Dream while we are in Siem Reap.  Then, we will rent transportation and travel to Phnom Phen, stopping at Pursat to visit with our host Rotary club.  We will spend two nights in Phnom Pehn and visit the Killing Fields and other sites.  I will be booking this and should get prices to you over the next week or so.  It should be very reasonable, I am hoping nor more than $500 to $600 depending on how expensive the tours will be.  If you are not going on to the third section, you should book your flight home out of Phnom Pehn.

The third section is a tour of Myanmar from June 10 through 16th.  Information on this tour is attached and it includes air fare from Phnom Pehn to Myanmar.  I am booking this tour directly with the tour company that we used for our last trip and they are giving us a really great price.  We need at least 10 people to book this tour and I will have to collect money from each of you and pay the deposit myself.  You can pay the balance with a credit card.

Please get back to me as soon as you can and let me know what you would like to do.  If you have decided not to go, please let me know that as well.  Also, feel free to invite others in your club.
