Hi Scotts Valley Rotarians,

We are celebrating community support for music education at Scotts Valley High School in Scotts Valley, CA.  Scotts Valley High was one of more than 34 school districts across the country that submitted a video to the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation that answered the question “What Makes Music Education Great in My School?” The school district is one of only three selected for a two-day residency with the Lennon Bus, www.lennonbus.org.

A group of students from the Scotts Valley High ROP Music Production and Recording Arts class will be recording an original song and making a video for that song aboard the Lennon Bus on Wednesday, February 22nd.

On Thursday morning, February 23rd from 10 AM-11 AM in the Scotts Valley High School Student Union, we will be having a forum with a panel of speakers discussing music education in our districts. From 11 AM-5 PM there will be tours of the Lennon Bus recording studio, as well as interactive music tents for students to work in.

We invite all dignitaries to tour the bus immediately following the forum.

We hope you can join us Thursday, February 23rd at Scotts Valley High School, 555 Glenwood Drive, Scotts Valley for this important event. Our objective is to have several districts together to hear from the panel and to discuss and share our music education programs. The NAMM Foundation, in conjunction with the Lennon Bus, will be filming the event for purposes of showing it when they advocate for music education in Washington, D.C.

Please RSVP so we can have a list of our guests.

Thank you,

Beth Hollenbeck
Director of Music, Scotts Valley Unified School District
