I wanted to let you and your club colleagues know about a rare opportunity to see real Bangladesh life on the ground, meet the mothers and children of Amarok Society, and explore the far reaches of this unknown country by boat, plane, coach and car.

Nick Lawley of Paragon Travel (Toronto) and the Rotary Club of East York are hosting a 14-day tour of Bangladesh and Amarok's Schools. Returning from his first Bangladesh trip last year, Nick said, "It was eye opening, seeing mothers so eager to learn, and to take advantage of the opportunity to do better for their families - the teaching techniques were so different. The level of student participation and enthusiasm would be the envy of every educator".

Travelers visit Bangladesh from January 17th, 2016, to January 30th. During your visit to Bangladesh, Gem Munro  and our in-country staff will take you to Amarok's schools in Dhaka and Khulna, where you will come to know some of the mothers, children, and teachers, and see first-hand what Rotary is supporting.

The tour includes a 4-day river cruise to the UNESCO world heritage site Sundarbans National Park - the largest mangrove forest in the world. This is home to Bengal Tigers, saltwater crocodiles, macaques and many other native animals. You will then travel to the beautiful and wild Rangamati Hill District for a complete change in culture and geography.

In Dhaka you will also have the opportunity to visit with the members of the Dhaka Mid town, and Dhaka West Rotary Clubs, who are also involved with Amarok Society in Bangladesh.

During the tour you will stay in comfortable and affordable accommodations suitable for western visitors.
Included in the price of the tour will be a donation to Amarok Society, which we hope will be sufficient funds to operate one of the schools for a year.
